A personal remembrance from DJ Andrew Sandoval: "I grew up in a Beatle obsessed household that was mostly glued to KHJ 93 in beautiful Boss Angeles. Forty years ago, my parents taped a multi-part history of The Beatles "The Long And Winding Road" which was never repeated anywhere. It colored my observations and historical knowledge of The Beatles, with fantastic interviews from Mal Evans, John Lennon, Dick James & Derek Taylor.
I have excerpted the 1967 Pepper segment for you to hear. Hosted by Dr. John Leader (who was with KHJ from 1975-1977), it is a truly fascinating time capsule. Listen out for Mal Evans explaining how he co-wrote a few of the songs on The Beatles landmark classic album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (released fifty years ago this week).Come To The Sunshine 112 featuring Scott Mckenzie

In an episode first aired on February 13, 2017: DJ Andrew Sandoval a selection of 1960s singles in mono by: The Jaguars/Somebody's Image/T.C. Atlantic/Stormie & Sunny/The Wheelbarrow/ Chris & Peter Allen/The Pastors/The Simple Image/Will-O-Bees/The Silver Byke/Michael Paul/Bob Morrison
In the artist spotlight is The Alan Price Set and their November 1967 long player, "A Price On His Head." What makes this release particularly unique is that it is the first by a major British artist to be fully self-produced and credited as such. Featuring a beautiful range of soulful pop, enigmatic originals and the most intimate and beautiful reading of Bob Dylan's "To Ramona" ever taped, the album is a relatively undiscovered gem.
"A Price On His Head" came a year after Alan's discovery of Randy Newman as an important writer and Price featured seven of Randy's compositions on this album. To put this in context, it would be two years till Nilsson's "Nilsson Sings Newman," and a long way off from Newman's general acceptance as one of the greatest writers of pop music.
The artist spotlight on Alan Price further features fourteen previously unissued live performances including two otherwise unrecorded originals - "Lovers Law" & "Satisfied Street" - as well as a duet with Lulu.Come To The Sunshine 109 featuring Peter Sarstedt
